What is IDDSI?

The International Dysphagia Diet Standardisation Initiative (IDDSI) provides a common terminology to describe food textures and drink thickness.

The IDDSI framework consists of a continuum of 8 levels (0-7), where drinks are measured from Levels 0 – 4, while foods are measured from Levels 3 – 7. To read more about IDDSI go to: www.iddsi.org.

I am not a business, can I buy Simply Puree food and have it delivered to my home?
Of course, you can order through www.oakhousefoods.co.uk and they will deliver our meals straight to your door.
How do you cook Simply Puree meals?
Our meals are cooked from frozen via an oven or a microwave. Please follow the instructions on the meal packaging.
Do you have allergen sensitive meals?

Yes, we do have a range of allergen aware meals.

Do you have a range of crockery that do not get hot / help residents / patients with independent feeding?

Yes, we have a range of crockery which are created so that they do not get too hot. We also have a range of plates with a lip around the outside of the plate which aids independent feeding.

We have found the wide range of dishes for all levels of texture a great benefit to our patients.

The dishes have proven to be very tasty, they visually look nice on the plate and provide a good nutritional profile, especially important for those patients whom have poorer appetites and desires to eat texture modified meals.

IDDSI has been a challenge to us all, but Simply Puree were quick to embrace the new guidelines, and provide supporting training material which was extremely helpful in supporting our kitchen staff to understand the subtle changes.
